A stunning love letter to Paris, as well as the story of two homeless people in love. the cinematography here is quite mind blowing, and the street life is romanticized a little bit, but the film makes me want to forgive it all faults, even going over the top to dizzying heights. the ambiguous ending is an homage to 'l'atalante'. wildly romantic!

It took eight years for Léos Carax's quirky 1991 romance to reach American screens, and one can only be grateful that it arrived at all (thanks to the efforts of Martin Scorsese).
