Description

Satoru is a heartbroken boy who has withdrawn into his room after the death of his mother. He uses Hinokio as a tool to communicate with the outside world. Satoru sits in his "digital cocoon" and cautiously guides Hinokio out into the world; first into a classroom to continue his education. There he finds some hostility but also friendship through an encounter with a girl with whom he reconnects and feels the warmth of human touch. Eventually Satoru needs to experience the world directly again and he activates Hinokio's "sensation mode" thus exposing himself to mortal danger.
