Description
Sheffield Doc/Fest 2012 proudly premiered this stunning film with brilliant live music score event on 13th June at 6pm at The Crucible. It was on The Space for some months and it screened on BBC4 Storyville on 18th of Nov. With unparalleled access to over 100 years of BFI Archive footage Penny Woolcock worked with editor Alex Fry to make a moving meditation on the British coastline, the film celebrates Great Britain’s identity as an island and the evocative place the coast has in many people’s hearts.
Online you can even make your own video postcard of your favourite UK coastal location with the same archival clips from the film and music from BSP.
The project was ommissioned by The Space, the new on-demand digital arts service developed by the Arts Council in partnership with the BBC and Storyville and produced by Sheffield Doc/Fest and Crossover.
