L'altra America di Woody Guthrie

"Woody Guthrie's Other America" An illustrated film no profit by Daniele Biacchessi and Giulio Peranzoni In crowdfunding Exiting in January 2019

Plot outline

His real name was Woodrow Wilson Guthrie, then known by all as Woody Guthrie.
It came from Okemah, a few houses in Okfuskee County, Oklahoma.
Woody's America was that of the early twentieth century.
He was only 17 years old when Wall Street's collapse in October 1929 caused the so-called "Great Depression": 25% unemployment, collapsed agricultural products and sharecropping, low wages , drought fueled by strong wind storms.
Social malaise influenced the political and artistic choices of Woody Guthrie and, more generally, his search for the roots of American popular culture.
Woody Guthrie was far more than a musician, songwriter, writer.
The story, narrative, stories that pass through great history, especially the epic, remain the cornerstones of Guthrie's artistic expression.
His style still influences the American ballad, a great tradition that came to us thanks to Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, Phil Ochs, Joan Baez, Bruce Springsteen, Joe Strummer, Billy Bragg, Jeff Tweedy, Ramblin 'Jack Elliot .
But there is more. Woody was the author of spoken blues, protest songs and politics, traditional ballads, children's songs, and improvised.
Many of his recordings remain jealously kept in the Library of Congress, also thanks to the extraordinary work of researcher Alan Lomax.
The figure of Woody Guthrie is dedicated to the fifth film by Daniele Biacchessi and Giulio Peranzoni
Not a documentary, not a docufilm, not even a fiction.
Illustrated with the Ldp technique, mixed with 3D elements and other innovative film techniques, "Woody Guthrie's Other America" is a journey of images, music and narrative around what remains of Guthrie's cultural heritage today.
